June Devotional

From the Pastors Desk;

We made it! Made it to what you ask? June, summer, vacation time and LEEK's "Open House." A time to get together with old friends and comrades. a time to make new friends, kick back and enjoy the day. Oh, you bet there is a lot to do, a lot of hard work to make all that goes on work out. Months of planning, and preparation, phone calls, zoom meetings, and face to face visits. Why we can only imagine what it takes to pull this off. All involved deserve a pat on the back.

Unlike when God was ready to bring His people the Israelites out of captivity from Egypt. God had a plan, but the one He chose to lead them Moses, had no clue what to do. To Moses it was all spur of the moment. Things were going along as well as they could until they reached the Red Sea. Water before them, several miles to the other side. No bridge to cross over on, no ferry to take them all safely over, and worst of all the Egyptian Pharoah and his army, with chariots, swords, and spears were bearing down on them from the rear. Between a rock and a hard place! But, God, spoke to Moses, "Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea." (Exodus 14:15-16) Just when all seemed hopeless, with no way out, at wit's end so to speak. When out of the blue, God comes on the scene and things work out. That's not a coincidence, that's part of a plan, God's plan. He is trying to get us to trust Him, that His way might not be our way, but it's the best way.
